3 game-changing presentation tricks

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we couldn't be more excited, because it means that Cyber Monday is only 1 week away!*

Until then, we've got a few presentation tricks for you to try that are so simple, you won't believe how much they boost your presentation game. Seriously.

We challenge you to give these a try next time you give a presentation, and let us know how it goes!

Tip #1: Tell them (3x)

Here's a pearl of age-old wisdom you may have learned in school that will totally transform the effectiveness of your presentation.

Tell your audience the information you're going go tell them, then tell them, and then tell them what you just told them.

Does it seem repetitive? Yes. But that is the point. Your goal is for your audience to be 100% clear on the main point of your presentation.

Tip #2: Harness the power of slide #2
The first few slides of a presentation are critical- this is where you retain or lose your audience's attention.

The best presentations that we've seen (and we've seen quite a few) maximize the second slide to grab the audience's attention.

Use the space on that slide to make a bold statement, ask the crowd an engaging question, show a funny image, or have them do an activity. Captivate the audience at the beginning and you'll be off to a strong start.

Tip #3: Try the 10/20/30 rule
If you're presenting on a big screen to a large audience, this is a strategy worth trying. Try to limit your presentation to 10 slides, 20 minutes, and no smaller than 30 point font (27 or 28 are probably fine though in our opinion). By giving yourself some guidelines to stick to, you will be focused on making sure each slide and every minute packs the highest level of impact.
